When I first saw Sunita Chaudhary for the role of Gulabi I was captivated by her voice. BINGO ! was my reaction . As her voice suited to Gulabi's innocence and vulnerability. But in the next instant I realized how difficult my job is going to be, to direct a rape scene as she had never acted before – she was as innocent and vulnerable as her voice, to play the role of rape victim.

As a director i knew what i wanted from this scene . As an actor i had to make it real . I recalled the memories of my loved one . Then i literally fell in love with my co – actor Khagendra...

We reached Bagbazar. Around the corner there were several dance bars lined up, left and right of the road .That night it seemed to me that they had all sprung up from nowhere, because in day time when I usually pass from that way it all looked sleepy...

I learnt to use my ear as the function of the ear is meant to be. Installed just near our right brain and left brain. I not only heard sounds but started listening to it....
